MSG Carr has four deployments in support of combat operations in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.ĬPT Phil Parenti is the Executive Officer and MS IV Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. As a Field Artillery Non-commissioned Officer, he has held every leadership position from Gunner to First Sergeant. He has been in the United States Army for over 20 years. MSG Daniel Carr is the Senior Military Science Instructor for the Spartan Battalion and the Assistant MS IV Instructor. LTC Dumas assumed duties as the 46 th Professor of Military Science for the Spartan Battalion beginning in June 2021. Joe’s drive and dedication to being a life-long learner have allowed him to earn two Masters of Arts degrees in addition to his leadership, staff and command assignments. As an Armor Officer, he has served in combat organizations and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
He commissioned in 2003 to the active component Army following graduation from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. LTC Dumas first entered service in 1998, enlisting in the Wisconsin Army National Guard as an Infantryman. Lieutenant Colonel Joe Dumas is the Chairperson for the Department of Military Science.
